It is said that the best day of a woman’s life is her wedding day. Naturally, the highlight of her wedding would be her wedding dress. It is the one day a woman is allowed to be the center of attention, being the most beautiful woman there is. Every woman’s dream is to have the most stunning wedding dress there is, and for 2016, here are some trends that you can steal from your favorite celebrities:
Highly know for their modern design, 3-D floral appliqués have taken floral appliqués to a whole new level. Dresses in this design may vary from an oversized sheer laser-cut appliqué to tiny shimmering beaded ensembles. These textured designs takes the gown to life and highlights any romantic gown to a level we never knew existed. Brides can dream of ivory landscapes with dreamy florals or whimsical butterflies drowning in silk tulle.
Endless possibilities are a given with a good overskirt. Ranging from a sheer layer of A-line cut tulle to thick-cut satin, an overskirt is versatile and adds drama to any wedding gown.
Sofia Vergara hit two birds with one gown with her custom Zuhair Murad Couture design a white strapless silk-tulle dress with a sweetheart neckline and hand-embroidered 3D embellishments on the bodice. A pearl beaded belt highlighted her waist, and a huge detachable overskirt wrapped up the entire look.
Feathers used to be a hit or miss fashion statement when it came to gowns. But when done right, feathers adorned in wedding gowns is the most gorgeous and glamorous design that we could ever pull out from the past. Feathers instantly adds whimsy to any look whether it be a full-on feather skirt or just a touch of them on the waist. They add extra dimension, and to be perfectly honest, so much fun in a wedding gown.
Looking to our celebrity favorites, Jenna Dewan’s Reem Acra gown had a sweetheart neckline and feathered skirt. Heidi Montag wore Monique Lhuillier’s “Symphony” from the Spring 2009 line with a silk organza dress has a drop waist with a peacock feather design.
Being progressive in fashion and in weddings, pants are the two-legged separates we all want and need. Flexible and versatile, pants can be worn in a tailored tuxedo or a boho wide-leg pair mimicking that of a gown when the legs are together. In 2016 trends, wedding dresses aren’t the only ones in the limelight.
Everybody’s favorite who wore the pants like nobody else can on her wedding day is Solange Knowles in Stephane Rolland
Plunging necklines is one of those trends we just simply cannot get enough of! When worn right, not only does a plunging neckline dress accentuate features and curves, but it gives off a certain elegance one can only pull off in the form of a wedding gown. Different variations of this are the classic deep V necks and the conservative counterpart, scalloped slits.
Kate Moss’s spectacular couture wedding dress designed by John Galliano perfectly encapsulated the plunging neckline in tulle giving the look a 20s art deco vintage look.
What once was considered taboo is now becoming a trend in 2016. Short dresses made its way both in the ceremony and in the reception. Taking on a more flirty and daring approach to wedding dresses, short mini skirts from beaded shifts to A-line pieces that go right up to the mid-thigh. If it’s short, it’s being done in all ways!
Favorites from the celebrities would include Keira Knightley in tulle Chanel dress from Chanel Haute Couture spring/summer 2006 collection and Cindy Crawford’s John Galliano slipdress for her barefoot beach wedding to Rande Gerber.
